Purpose and scope

This library explains deposits, obstructions, cleaning applications, surface preparation and washwater issues that can affect water-jetting work. It is general technical guidance, not a site-specific risk assessment or an instruction to carry out hazardous work.

Editorial process and AI assistance

AI is used to assist with drafting and editing this library. Before publication, the prose is reviewed against the linked regulator, industry or manufacturer sources where they support a technical claim. Automated checks are also used for identifiers, page structure and links. This process does not amount to independent sign-off by a chemist, engineer or other technical specialist.

We do not invent qualifications, site visits, case studies, test results, equipment ownership or specialist endorsements. A named technical contributor is credited only when their identity, relevant expertise and review of the entry have been established.

Sources and technical limits

Manufacturer sources support the applications and equipment they actually describe. They do not establish that the same method or equipment is suitable for every site. Regulatory and safety sources are applied only within their stated jurisdiction and scope.

Recovered solids and washwater are considered in the context of the material removed and the process or area they came from. The library does not assign a waste code, discharge route or disposal method from the deposit name alone.

What the library includes

Detailed guides cover subjects where the source material supports useful technical guidance and the limits can be stated clearly. Short reference entries point to an original source when a separate guide would add little. Search and filter pages are navigation tools, not additional technical articles.

Corrections and updates

When a material error is found, the statement and its supporting source are checked before the entry is corrected. A review date should change only after a substantive correction or source review, not simply because a page has been rebuilt.

Unknown residues, chemical compatibility, structural condition, confined spaces and changes to a treatment process require competent assessment for the actual job. Immediate hazards remain subject to the site’s own emergency arrangements.
