Access, exclusion and slurry control
Hand-held or robotic equipment is selected for the working face and available access. The work needs an exclusion area, suitable water supply and controlled collection of concrete slurry. Washings must not be allowed to enter drainage or watercourses uncontrolled. Platforms, scaffolding and adjacent work also have to suit the removal operation.
Removal limits before structural repair
The exposed concrete and reinforcement are checked against the repair specification. If deterioration continues beyond the agreed boundary, any extension is referred back to the responsible repair team. Hydrodemolition completes the removal stage only; reinforcement treatment, reinstatement and structural acceptance remain separate stages unless expressly included.
